Hi Elke, luck for me that I meet you here in Alberta. Beauty ( real name BMF Ultimately Giftet ) is doing good. Her canter is getting better. So I entered her for a show in June/07 in Second Level. My young horse Liela is coming along also. Had her in a clinic and my instructor was impressed. Old Hannoverian typ. Hope to show her to you in July. Take care, Susanne

Thank you so much, Elke, for making our stable, "All The King's Horses Equestrian Centre", your teaching centre during your stay here in Alberta. Having an instructor of your calibre teach here was truly an honor and we look forward to having you come back.

Hallo Elke! Just got on to your site and had a look at all your beautiful horses. We really enjoyed having you here for the 3 weeks and look forward to you coming again. I am sorry I didn't get to ride Flash with you. I think you would have liked him. Vautanna is doing really well and makes excellent progress every time she is ridden. There were things you said that really helped us.

I started riding again at 50 something because I have lower back problems that I knew the work of riding would help minimize and because I missed being around horses.
I’ve been working with Elke Kofahl for 8 years now and I am really glad I found her. While making allowances for age and condition, she still pushed me to the edge of my physical limits and technical ability. She has a very keen eye for both in myself and in my horse and I’ve achieved a comfort and confidence I would not have believed possible. Today, thanks to Elke I’m heading off this morning on Fee for the first trail ride of 2008. Yeah spring!

The only reason I started riding was that Elke just happened to move to my town with a few of her Westphalian warmbloods and it was something new to do. I started riding with Elke when I was ten and continue to ride with her every chance I get when I'm home. Riding with her has allowed me to progress in ways that are not always possible. Rather then just correcting me while riding she would give me time to figure out myself how to fix the problem. This way of teaching has allowed me to develop a "thinking" way of riding. I have now been riding for over 12 years with Elke and am currently a working student at one of the top Dressage stables in Australia. I'll soon be home though to continue riding at Elke's in the summer.

I’m Wendy and I’ve been riding with Elke Kofahl for more than ten years, since my early teens. Elke is a confident, thorough and calming teacher. She will get me over any worries I have about working with a horse, in the saddle or on the ground.
She is very observant and understands how both the horse and rider are feeling. She will explain patiently until I understand how things are working (or not working) for us.
Elke is confident of her own abilities, works hard and is dedicated to her students, horses and people both.
Elke is my ‘go to’ person for any horse problem.

I've taken four clinics with Elke over the past year and they have been absolutely fantastic! Elke's approach to dressage follows the principles of classical training in order to help your horse perform at his or her best. She focuses on developing strong basics, particularly proper transitions and precise movements.
She has a very good eye and never misses anything going on between you and your horse.
In her lessons, we always work on many excercises that I can work on, on my own with my horse. Her training program is progressive, and focuses on developing the horse's muscles correctly instead of pushing the horse too fast.
Elke's teaching style is very inviting and calm, and she is always right there in the ring when she is teaching. She always makes her riders and their horses comfortable during lessons.

I started riding at Elke's when I was in grade 7. I had only ridden a couple of times before this and was a little nervous around the horses. But Elke helped me ease into things with confidence. I always had fun riding with Elke. There was always a good balance between seriousness and enjoyableness with Elke. No matter how many times I strayed from riding over the years, Elke always happily accepted me back. All the other places I have gone riding have always commented on my riding techniques and skills and I have always credited Elke for being such a fine teacher. Thank you Elke for all that you have done. My riding would not be the same without you.
